Responsibilities
Provide direct patient care on the Stepdown Unit for cardiovascular and post‑surgical patients, including STEMI/NSTEMI, CP rule‑out, CHF, and post‑ICU cardiothoracic surgery cases.
Monitor hemodynamics, administer IV medications (including antiarrhythmics), and support noninvasive ventilation as ordered.
Perform accurate assessments, monitor telemetry, interpret relevant data, and escalation changes in patient condition per protocol.
Float to Med/Surg or ER as needed to cover CVCU/Med Surg holds; adapt to patient acuity and unit needs.
Maintain accurate documentation, administer medications safely, and collaborate with the multidisciplinary team for care planning and discharge readiness.
Ensure infection control practices, patient education, and safe transfer of care during handoffs.
Requirements
Active Oklahoma RN license.
2+ years of Stepdown Unit (SDU) experience.
ACLS and NIHSS certifications.
Ability to float to Med/Surg or ER to support CVCU/Med Surg holds.
Day shift availability with three 12‑hour shifts; flexibility and adaptability required.
Ability to work effectively in a hospital setting and comply with unit policies.
