
Production Planner

Position Summary
The Planner reports to the Master Scheduler and is responsible for production scheduling, validating documents and tooling for production readiness, deviation processing, work order processing, statusing material for clear-to-build schedule which includes expediting open purchase orders, and running MRP. The Planner may perform a variety of tasks in accordance with their training, experience, and skill.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Processing customer purchase orders
Order backlog maintenance
Delivery note confirmation
Manage all existing as well as develop, propose, and implement new planning processes, systems, and procedures as deemed necessary.
Attend customer focus team meetings to plan for customer requirements within the manufacturing.
Work with procurement team to expedite open POs for scheduled WOs.
Overall responsible for leadership of all phases of management for the internal work orders to support existing customer orders; includes interfacing with all internal partners and staff to ensure customer satisfaction.
Coordinate the efforts of cross‑functional departments as required to ensure that programs are run within the requirements of the customer needs.
Participation in improvement and development measures to reduce costs and gain efficiencies for all areas of responsibility.
Interface and support internal customers (program management, production, quality, engineering, etc).
Possess SAP proficiency for area of responsibility.
Interact with internal and external customers and colleagues, and other functional areas.
Support the Quality Management system including conformance to ISO‑based registrations and controls for the facility business plan based upon targeted market sectors.
Manage conflicting priorities in a fast‑paced environment, as well as partner with business executives and operations leaders in order to develop appropriate solutions.
Prepare activity reports and other data input as required.
May include odd‑hour teleconferences with global facilities.
Other miscellaneous tasks as assigned.
Qualifications Required / Job Specifications
Three to five (3‑5) years of experience in a Planner or production control position at a contract manufacturing company.
Associate's Degree in a related field or equivalent training and experience.
Strong analytical, communication, listening, and interpersonal skills with the ability to relate to individuals from multi‑cultural backgrounds and build trusting relationships at all levels within the organization.
Conflict resolution skills and ability to apply techniques at all levels of the organization.
High level of integrity in handling confidential and sensitive information.
Self‑directed, dependable, and motivated with excellent relationship and time‑management skills.
Ability to learn various software systems quickly.
Understanding of the competitive dynamics in electronic manufacturing services and NPI process.
Ability to manage conflicting priorities in a fast‑paced environment, as well as partner with business executives and operations leaders in order to develop appropriate solutions.
Develop and maintain courteous and effective working relationships with clients, vendors, and representatives of external organizations.
Proficient with PC‑based software including SAP and Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced knowledge of Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
Strong, effective organizational skills: detail oriented and able to multitask.
Excellent communication skills in both verbal and written form.
Ability to read and interpret engineering instructions, schematics, technical procedures, and various reports.
Ability to keep accurate documentation.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers and employees.

Availability to work the days and hours necessary to perform all assigned responsibilities and tasks, especially during regular business hours or shifts, to communicate with subordinates, supervisors, customers, vendors, and any other persons or organizations required.
