This fast-paced, hands-on role lets you make a direct impact on supply chain performance, working closely with Procurement, Planning, and Operations to ensure smooth, on-time operations.

Type of Job: Contract for 6 months
Location: Trumbull, CT

Materials Coordinator – Expediting
Daily Tasks: What you will do:
Proactively monitor purchase orders (POs) to ensure on-time delivery of materials.
Drive supplier commitments and accelerate shipments when needed to prevent production delays.
Manage late POs, track below safety stock (SSL) items, and implement recovery plans including pull-ins, split shipments, or expedited freight.
Confirm inbound shipments, obtain supplier acknowledgements, and track carrier details.
Maintain accurate delivery dates in ERP/MRP systems and update records after supplier confirmation.
Re-engage low-activity or dormant suppliers to secure continuity of supply.
Partner with Procurement, Planning, and Operations teams to align priorities and resolve material shortages.
Update reports on shortages, late POs, and recovery actions; escalate issues when necessary.
Support premium freight requests with business justification and necessary approvals.
Qualifications / Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent.
3+ years of experience in supply chain, procurement, materials, or production planning in a manufacturing or distribution environment.
Hands-on experience expediting purchase orders and managing supplier commitments.
Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, Infor) and Excel/Google Sheets.
