About the Role
The Maintenance Mechanic plays a critical role in ensuring the continuous and efficient operation of mechanical systems within our facility. This position is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of pumps, boilers, conveyor systems, and other mechanical equipment to minimize downtime and maintain safety standards. The ideal candidate will proactively identify potential issues and perform preventative maintenance to extend equipment life and optimize performance. Working closely with the operations team, the Maintenance Mechanic will troubleshoot complex mechanical problems and implement effective solutions promptly. This role requires a hands-on approach, attention to detail, and the ability to work safely in various environments, including climbing ladders and operating forklifts.
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
Proven experience in mechanical maintenance, specifically with pumps, boilers, and conveyor systems.
Ability to safely climb ladders and work at heights.
Familiarity with three-phase electrical systems and mechanical components such as gaskets.
Valid forklift operator certification or ability to obtain one.
Preferred Qualifications
Technical certification or vocational training in mechanical maintenance or industrial mechanics.
Experience working in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
Knowledge of safety standards and regulatory compliance related to mechanical maintenance.
Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical schematics.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Responsibilities
Perform routine and emergency maintenance on pumps, boilers, conveyor systems, and other mechanical equipment to ensure optimal functionality.
Diagnose mechanical failures and execute repairs or replacements of components such as gaskets and mechanical seals.
Operate and maintain three-phase electrical systems related to mechanical equipment in compliance with safety regulations.
Climb ladders and access elevated areas safely to inspect and service equipment as needed.
Operate forklifts to move heavy parts and equipment within the facility as part of maintenance activities.
Work overtime as required to address urgent maintenance needs and minimize production downtime.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, parts used, and equipment status for reporting and compliance purposes.
