
Electronics Technician

Job Description
Responsible for building prototypes incorporating electronic controls and PCB assemblies, setting up and conducting tests on electronic assemblies or components, performing failure analysis, documenting test results, basic repairs, troubleshooting, and routine maintenance of electrical lab test equipment. The Electronics Technician collaborates with an Electronics Engineer and a Test Engineer in the development and testing of electronic components.
Responsibilities
Understand and apply safe working practices in the lab, including PPE and ESD equipment
Setup test equipment, data acquisition equipment and power supplies
Test, troubleshoot, and repair electrical/electronic circuits and test equipment
Fabricate and assemble PCB assemblies, wire harnesses, electrical circuits and prototypes
Read and interpret technical/electrical drawings, layouts, schematics, and wiring diagrams
Gather test data, formulate conclusions, and write test reports
Analyze failure modes and recommend improvements
Specify and purchase electrical components and equipment
Support 5S+1 and other waste elimination activities
Qualifications
Associate degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related field with work experience or internship in electrical/electronic equipment testing, design, diagnostics, troubleshooting, or repair
3+ years of relevant electrical/electronic work experience in a test laboratory, equipment diagnostics, troubleshooting, or repairs
Ability and willingness to learn and apply new technologies and procedures
Preferred Qualifications
Demonstrable practical skills in problem solving, root cause analysis, troubleshooting and repair
Experience working with E/E test equipment including oscilloscopes, multimeters, function generators, power supplies, data acquisition equipment
Experience with E/E technologies such as Bluetooth, Li‑Ion battery testing, Brushless DC
Programming experience: LabVIEW or C/C++, BLDC firmware
Perform basic electrical calculations
Read, analyze, interpret and create technical documentation, procedures and regulations
Experience with PCB layout software and SMT equipment (Print, Pick/Place, Reflow oven)
Hand‑soldering of through‑hole and SMT components
Microsoft Office proficiency
