Ryder is hiring an experienced Mid-Level Diesel Technician in Walton Hills, Ohio – offering weekly pay, excellent benefits, and a technician career you can feel good about.

Compensation & Bonuses

Hourly Pay: $26.50 per hour

Certification Bonus: $100 for each new ASE certification obtained, up to $700

Quarterly Bonus: up to $500 every quarter (four times per year)

Sign‑On Bonus: $1,250 at 30 days and $1,250 at 90 days

Schedule: Tuesday–Saturday; Hours: Second Shift Tuesday–Thursday 3:00 pm–11:30 pm, Friday 12:30 pm–9:00 pm, Saturday 7:00 am–3:30 pm

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)

Vocational or technical certification, post‑secondary degree or technical certifications (preferred)

Basic tools required

Aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines, including routine preventive maintenance (oil changes, brake and tire work)

Two (2) years or more of a combination of classroom training and work experience (preferred)

Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A (preferred)

Additional Requirements

Must obtain a CDL within 6 months after hire

Must pass a Ryder drug test

Must pass a DOT physical

Must pass a Ryder road test

Must pass a Ryder background and motor‑vehicle check, including verification of drug and alcohol status from previous employers for the last 3 years

Responsibilities

Performs vehicle maintenance and repair duties

Performs standard vehicle maintenance and component inspections and repairs

Performs preventive maintenance

Diagnoses standard mechanical and electronic problems, utilizing diagnostic computer when applicable

Identifies root causes of basic failures/conditions and performs repairs as required

Replaces defective components as instructed

Performs facility maintenance duties

Interacts with customers/drivers to determine nature of complaint when a task is assigned

Utilizes key functions of Shop Management System and electronic documentation

Works in accordance with all federal, provincial and corporate compliance guidelines (i.e., safety, DOT, MOT)

Performs other support duties as required to support operations, including but not limited to Service Island support
