Position Summary
Pacemaker/ICD Technician (FGP) – Manhattan, Medicine-Cardio. The Cardiac Device Technician is responsible for assisting the Nurse Practitioners and Physicians in the management of all patients with implanted cardiac devices requiring cardiac device therapy. This position is responsible for establishing and maintaining a remote monitoring program that includes scheduling, billing, downloading and analysis of clinical device transmissions. Typical duties will include clinical interrogation of pacemakers and Implantable Cardiac Defibrillator (ICD) devices, review of patient algorithms, and other clinical interrogation data and preparation of preliminary reports for physicians.
Job Responsibilities
Scheduling of clinic and remote appointments.
Sending follow up letter to patients regarding past appointments.
Following the status of all device patients within the practice and also with the manufacturer.
Holter Monitor set-up and reporting.
Interrogation and programming of pacemakers and ICD devices under the direct supervision of physicians and nurse practitioners.
Downloading and analysis of transmissions.
Monitoring websites for remote transmissions and urgent alerts.
Registering patients on vendor websites for remote monitoring systems.
Minimum Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited EKG school, graduate of a Cardiac Arrhythmia Technology Program, or equivalent training/experience in interpreting cardiac arrhythmias.
Preferred Qualifications
Certified Rhythm Analysis technician (CRAT) from CCI. Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent.
