Job Title: Warehouse Technician – Supply Store

Job Description

The Warehouse Technician supports daily warehouse operations by safely handling, storing, and moving materials, accurately processing inbound and outbound shipments, and maintaining organized and efficient inventory flows within the supply store environment. This role requires careful attention to detail, a strong focus on safety, and the ability to work effectively with material handling equipment in a fast‑paced setting.

Responsibilities

Use material handling equipment to load and unload inbound and outbound shipments from trucks and other carriers.

Process incoming freight from parcel and freight carriers, ensuring accurate receipt and documentation of materials.

Safely operate assigned material handling equipment, including forklifts where applicable, and ensure all required pre‑use inspections are completed.

Report all accidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions to the supervisor promptly.

Stock and arrange products in warehouse racks and designated storage areas to support efficient inventory rotation and warehouse turns.

Determine accurate material quantities through cycle counting and other inventory verification activities.

Receive material into inventory, move material between designated locations, and locate or pick material from warehouse locations as required.

Verify part numbers, quantities, and related data fields to ensure accurate electronic records for receipts, inventory levels, and locations.

Identify and resolve discrepancies involving material quantities, part numbers, and locations in coordination with appropriate team members.

Locate and store parts while ensuring pallets are stable, pallet heights are within safe limits, and racking, materials, and equipment are not damaged.

Ensure that materials are stored properly and not left in aisles or other areas that may create safety hazards or obstruct workflow.

Practice safe material handling techniques at all times, following company policies and safety guidelines.

Perform general housekeeping duties in the warehouse, keeping work areas clean, organized, and free of debris.

Work overtime and weekends as required to meet operational needs.

Adhere to all safety‑sensitive role requirements and maintain a high level of awareness regarding safe work practices.

Essential Skills

Previous warehouse experience handling inbound and outbound materials.

Ability to safely operate material handling equipment, with forklift operation strongly preferred, including work at heights up to approximately 12 feet.

Strong attention to detail when verifying part numbers, quantities, and inventory data.

Ability to perform accurate cycle counts and reconcile inventory discrepancies.

Capability to lift, move, and handle materials in a warehouse environment.

Commitment to safe work practices and adherence to safety procedures.

Willingness and ability to work overtime and weekends as required.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience working with parcel and freight carriers for inbound shipments (for example, small package and express services).

Familiarity with electronic inventory systems and data entry for receipts, inventory, and location tracking.

Ability to organize storage areas for efficient product flow and inventory rotation.

Strong communication skills to report issues and coordinate with supervisors and team members.

Experience in a safety-sensitive role or similar environment with strict safety protocols.

Work Environment
This position is based in a warehouse and supply store setting, working Monday through Friday from approximately 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with additional overtime and weekend hours as needed. The work involves frequent use of material handling equipment, including forklifts at heights up to about 12 feet, and regular loading, unloading, and movement of materials within racking systems and storage areas. The environment requires consistent adherence to safety procedures, housekeeping standards, and safe material handling techniques. You will work on your feet for much of the day in an active, fast‑paced facility where organization, cleanliness, and safe equipment operation are essential.

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Savannah, GA.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00/hr.
