Overview
The Department of Corrections, Division of Institutions, is recruiting for a Maintenance Specialist - Electronics - Journey 2/Lead position for the Goose Creek Correctional Center (GCCC) located in Mackenzie Point, Alaska.

Responsibilities
Perform advanced installation, maintenance and repairs on DDC equipment and systems for HVAC, lighting, fire/life safety applications, CCTV equipment and systems, communication systems for voice and data, telecommunications equipment and systems, LAN/WAN systems, broadband and radio systems, fire alarm components and security detection systems.
In concert with maintenance department electricians, install, maintain and repair or replace light switches, power receptacles, light fixtures and related components while using lock out/tag out procedures.
Perform skilled work in surface preparation, finishing and painting of interior and exterior surfaces.
Perform repair, maintenance and installation of doors/frames, windows/frames, floor coverings, ceiling systems and their associated components.
Aid other maintenance staff as assigned, performing any of the tasks assigned, such as operating a front-end loader for snow removal and/or operating a vehicle for plowing.
Qualifications and Competencies
Electronics: Knowledge of electronic theory, circuits, components, and material properties (excluding computers).
Oral and Written Communication: Expresses information clearly to individuals or groups, with attention to audience and context; makes clear and convincing oral and written presentations; listens and responds appropriately.
Network Management: Knowledge of the operation, management, and maintenance of network and telecommunication systems and linked systems and peripherals.
Working Environment
Goose Creek Correctional Center is a minimum/medium custody facility that houses up to 1500 inmates and employs over 350 staff. You will be working in an institutional setting with inmates daily.
