The Alaska Department of Corrections Pharmacy, Division of Health and Rehabilitation Services, is recruiting for a Pharmacy Technician 1/2 position located in Anchorage, Alaska.

What You Will Be Doing
Assist pharmacists in the processing, preparation and distribution of medication orders. Will assist in formulary maintenance and other tasks as defined by the practice of pharmacy.

Pharmacy Technician 1
Two years of experience in a medical or medical supply field which required knowledge of pharmaceuticals and related supplies. Licensure as a pharmacy technician in the State of Alaska.

Substitution:

An Associate degree in Pharmacy Technician from an accredited college, completion of a post‑secondary Pharmacy Technician certificate program with a minimum of 30 credits, or certification as a Certified Pharmacy Technician by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board will substitute for the required experience.

Special Note
Normal color vision is required. The department will verify this at the time of interview. Pharmacy Technicians 1 require licensure as a pharmacy technician in the State of Alaska. See 12 AAC 52.230. Pharmacy Technicians.

Pharmacy Technician 2
Three years of experience in a medical or medical supply field which required knowledge of pharmaceuticals and related supplies. Licensure as a pharmacy technician in the State of Alaska. National Certification as a pharmacy technician in the State of Alaska.

Special Note:

Salary
Starting salary may be approved up to Step D - $29.57, if criteria are met.

Fingerprint Notice

Flexibly Staffed
This position is flexibly staffed. The level of the job offer will be based on the selected candidate’s eligibility. If hired at the lower level, you will be promoted to the higher-level job class after completing the training plan and meeting the minimum qualifications.
