Job Summary
The Department of Pediatrics is seeking a Clinical Research Coordinator to coordinate and support research studies conducted by the Pediatric Hospital Medicine and Complex Care Research Team. This role involves participant-facing activities, study operations management, data coordination, and communication with investigators and multi-site partners. The coordinator serves as the primary point of contact for clinical research participants, study investigators, and multi-stie collaborators, ensuring studies are conducted in accordance with study protocols, regulatory requirements, and institutional standards.

This position is full or part‑time, 50%–100%.

Work may be performed in-person at a designated campus location, or remotely at an off‑site, non‑campus location.

The position is a trust position that will require caregiver checks under the Wisconsin Caregiver Law, renewed every four years.

Key Job Responsibilities

Performs quality checks on data.

Serves as main point of contact for clinical research participants, providing information regarding research procedures and expectations, and alerts the Principal Investigator of any issues.

Performs literature reviews and contributes to academic manuscript writing.

Identifies resource needs and manages supply and equipment inventory levels.

Reviews, analyzes, and interprets qualitative data and documents results for presentation and/or reporting to internal and external audiences.

Recruits, screens, selects, and enrolls trial participants; collects complex information, performs medical assessments, and answers varied questions under supervision of a medically licensed professional. Performs medical assessments after required training/certification, such as collecting vital signs, obtaining weight, and performing phlebotomy.

Schedules logistics, determines workflows, and secures resources for clinical research trials.

Manages research workflow components, collects, prepares, processes, and submits participant data and samples to appropriate entities, adhering to research protocols.

Assists with staff training.

Develops clinical research documents such as job aids, tools, processes, procedures, and training, and contributes to protocol development.

Required Qualifications

Minimum 1 year of research experience in health services.

Computer experience using Microsoft Office and/or other database management software.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in qualitative research methods or related fields.

Experience using Qualtrics, REDCap, or similar data collection platforms.

Education
Bachelor's Degree preferred; focus in healthcare, public health, behavioral health, social work, or related field preferred.

Compensation

Starting salary is $50,000 annually; negotiable based on experience and qualifications.

Benefits include vacation, holidays, sick leave; competitive insurances and savings accounts; retirement benefits.

Effective July 1, 2024, salary below $43,888 is considered non‑exempt; such positions will be paid hourly and receive overtime for hours over 40.
