Manufacturing Technician

General Mills, Inc. is a leading food manufacturer. We seek a Manufacturing Technician to support production packaging and processing operations at our Geneva, IL Plant.
Responsibilities
Support production packaging and processing operations, sanitation, and participation in startup, operation, changeover, and shutdown of operating equipment.
Assist in training new employees.
Troubleshoot problems with machinery and work with maintenance staff to resolve issues.
Calibrate processing and packaging systems daily to meet specifications.
Participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives to increase platform performance.
Daily Activities
Creating high‑quality foods that are eaten nationwide.
Using technology in an industry‑leading facility.
Working with high‑level operators on experienced teams that pass on knowledge to employees willing to learn.
Challenging yourself to get the job done right.
Qualifications
Minimum of a high school education or GED.
Experience in a manufacturing/production environment desired.
Mechanical and/or electrical capability desired.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
Must perform physical tasks for extended periods, including standing, walking, climbing, bending, pushing, pulling, and twisting.
Ability to climb and/or work at heights using stairs, ladders, personnel lifts, or platforms.
Ability to wear protective clothing and equipment such as safety shoes, face masks, safety glasses, hearing protection, a hard hat, a hair/beard net, and gloves when required.
Willing and able to adhere to grooming requirements necessary for a food manufacturing environment.
Ability to work in hot, cold, noisy, dusty, wet environmental working conditions.
Willing to work around industrial high‑speed moving machinery.
Ability to work with allergens present in a food environment.
Shift Hours
12.5‑hour shifts with a 3‑2‑2 schedule:
Day shift: 5:30 am – 6:00 pm.
Night shift: 5:30 pm – 6:00 am.
Shift rotation every 6 months.
On‑off pattern: 3 days on, 2 days off, 2 days on, then cycle repeats (cycle length 2 weeks).
Plant operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Only 15–16 days of work per month.
Pay Rates
Start Rate: $24.22 (T1)
Range: $28.23 – $46.78 (T2‑T5)
