Job Description
The Maintenance Technician will support a high-volume manufacturing plant in Albuquerque, NM by performing preventive maintenance and reactive repairs on automated production equipment. Working as part of a collaborative maintenance team, this role focuses on keeping industrial machinery, conveyors, and motors operating safely and efficiently in a 24/7 manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
Perform preventive maintenance and reactive repairs on production and manufacturing equipment in an industrial plant.
Troubleshoot, repair, and replace 3-phase motors, including work on 480-volt systems.
Diagnose and repair conveyor systems, including mechanical and electrical components.
Perform electrical repairs and maintenance using appropriate tools such as multimeters.
Read and interpret blueprints and electrical schematics to identify issues and plan repairs.
Troubleshoot and repair pneumatic and hydraulic systems, including pumps and related components.
Conduct welding and basic fabrication to repair or modify equipment and components as needed.
Perform PLC-related troubleshooting on production equipment under established procedures.
Use lockout/tagout (LOTO) safety procedures consistently during maintenance and repair activities.
Inspect equipment regularly to identify potential issues and complete maintenance tasks before failures occur.
Work closely with other maintenance technicians, production staff, and leadership to minimize downtime and support production goals.
Document maintenance work performed, including repairs, parts used, and time spent, in accordance with plant procedures.
Operate safely in a dusty, industrial environment while following high safety standards and plant policies.
Support continuous improvement efforts by identifying opportunities to enhance equipment reliability and performance.
Assist with general equipment maintenance tasks as needed to support a lean, team-oriented operation.
Essential Skills
At least 2 years of experience as a maintenance mechanic or maintenance technician in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
Proven experience troubleshooting, repairing, and replacing 3-phase motors, including work on 480-volt systems.
Hands‑on experience troubleshooting and repairing conveyor systems in a production environment.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and electrical schematics accurately.
Experience performing welding for equipment repair and basic fabrication tasks.
Demonstrated proficiency with lockout/tagout (LOTO) safety procedures.
Mechanical aptitude with experience in equipment repair and maintenance.
Ability to perform electrical repairs and maintenance on industrial equipment.
Experience using a multimeter for electrical troubleshooting and diagnostics.
Knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulics, including troubleshooting and maintenance of hydraulic pumps and pneumatic systems.
Ability to troubleshoot and maintain production equipment in a fast‑paced industrial environment.
Capability to work rotating shifts and extended hours consistent with a 24/7 manufacturing operation.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience as a forklift, diesel, or general mechanic in an industrial environment.
Background in conveyor maintenance and motor repair on automated production lines.
Exposure to PLC troubleshooting on production equipment.
Experience with both mechanical and electrical maintenance in a manufacturing setting.
Ability to perform basic fabrication work to support equipment modifications and repairs.
Strong troubleshooting skills across mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
Comfort working in a lean operation where team members support a wide range of tasks.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Albuquerque, NM.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $27.17 - $31.04/hr.
