Customer Service Representative
Responsible for intake of customer orders and timely delivery of product to customers through a local call center servicing the surrounding areas of Barboursville, Charleston, and Huntington, WV. Must schedule and dispatch drivers while maintaining safety and efficiency goals.
Key Responsibilities
Strong problem‑solving skills in a fast‑paced environment, balancing excellent customer service with safety and efficiency guidelines.
Computer proficient and able to learn multiple software levels (Command, Trakit, Universal, Microsoft Office, iPhone, tablet applications).
Show pleasant, accommodating demeanor over the phone and maintain a professional attitude with internal and external customers in a high‑volume call setting.
Respond to stressful situations and customers in a professional, courteous manner.
Good listening skills and ability to address customer complaints or concerns.
Learn extensive product line and its applications.
Work directly with sales staff on pricing and quoting.
Collaborate with accounts receivable and credit manager regarding all accounts.
Accurately record delivery and product information into Command Dispatch Systems and negotiate delivery times with customers.
Schedule, dispatch, and control drivers to satisfy customer demand while maintaining safety and efficiency goals.
Support and collaborate with operations and frontline employees while complying with DOT regulations.
Navigate GPS systems; assist drivers in locating job sites.
Determine travel time to jobs and select optimal plant locations.
Manage a fleet of up to 60+ trucks at one time.
Coordinate next‑day delivery schedule and adhere to Federal Hours of Service rules.
Record accurate delivery and product information on orders.
Work overtime and varying shifts, including early mornings, late afternoons, and Saturdays.
Maintain timely and regular attendance.
Education / Experience
1+ year of experience in customer service, dispatch, production, equipment, maintenance, or quality control.
Experience with ready mix or building supply highly desired.
Physical Requirements
Regularly sit for long periods, use a computer, and handle frequent phone use.
Occasional bending, kneeling, squatting, climbing, standing, and walking.
Frequent reaching and fine‑motor repetitive tasks.
Occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs.
