24- Hour Call Coverage included
Responsibilities:
Rounding on In-Patients, performing procedures as needed, and responding to consults as called upon.
Census for unit usually grows to 20-25 over the weekend, with 15-20 consults each weekend also.
Standard urology procedures include: stone care, stents, caths, cystoscopes, torsions (pediatrics included), incidental appendectomy, adrenal surgery, hernia repair, endourology procedures, hand assisted laparoscopic nephrectomy, etc.
MUST be comfortable with trauma/open procedures ? i.e. gun shot wounds that involves kidneys or testicles, stab wounds, bladder repair, etc.
Additional information:
Level I Trauma Center that is very busy and large.
No APP support on weekends.
