Position: Behavioral Health Clinical Supervisor – Exempt, Position Code H16E. Department: Healthcare Operations. Category: Licensed Clinical Social Workers (L20a2) / Behavioral Health Provider. Union Exempt: Yes.
Under the supervision of the Behavioral Health Services Director, the licensed behaviorist will provide clinical supervision and ongoing training to Behaviorists at First Choice Community Healthcare (FCCH) and will work with the Director and others to meet compliance expectations and accreditation outcomes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Screen, assess, and address patient behavioral/mental health needs in collaboration with primary care teams.
May carry a small caseload of patients to provide direct services.
Provide access to patient visits for evaluation, symptom management, medication monitoring, and coping strategy instruction.
Support behavioral health treatment through group and individual counseling as needed.
Provide clinical supervision at least once weekly to Behaviorists, reviewing clinical problem‑solving, treatment plan adherence, and documentation.
Collaborate with the Director to gather data and support behaviorists’ evaluations and future training objectives.
Create and implement ongoing clinical trainings for staff to enhance their skill set.
Identify and implement clinical outcome measures and evaluate their effectiveness.
Coordinate and communicate with other health care providers involved in patient care.
Act as a team resource for suicide prevention contracts, safety plans, and crisis interventions as required.
Document clinical care appropriately in the electronic patient record.
Support relevant quality improvement initiatives.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Minimum Education: Master's Degree in Social Work or Counseling.
New Mexico independent licensure required.
New Mexico Board Certified as a Clinical Supervisor.
At least 5 years of experience in a clinical supervisory role, including skills in assisting behaviorists with case conceptualization and DSM formulation.
Experience creating and implementing clinical trainings.
Valid New Mexico driver’s license and reliable personal transportation.
Must maintain professional licensure.
CPR certification required within six months of hire.
Knowledge and ability to provide professional behavioral health services.
Teamwork and interpersonal communication skills.
Computer literacy for using available computerized tools.
Ability to maintain quality, safety, infection control standards.
Familiarity with compliance expectations, billing, coding, and regulations.
Patient Population
Patients may range in age from early childhood to geriatric; accommodations for specific expertise or comfort with a particular age group will be considered.
Physical Characteristics and Working Conditions
Good dexterity to operate personal computer and office equipment; occasional lifting and carrying of office materials.
Requires ability to read a computer monitor accurately and communicate clearly.
Work is mostly inside an office in a controlled environment; normal office safety precautions required.
May require travel within the Albuquerque metropolitan area.
Work schedule Monday–Friday, with alternative availability for weekends when needed.
