Summary: The Regional Truck Driver safely and efficiently completes regional deliveries with care, professionalism, and precision.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Drives semi-tractor/trailers for up to 11 hours after 10 hours off-duty on runs of up to one week or more.
Backs trailers to customer dock.
Maintains compliance with Federal and State safety regulations and safe and professional driving behavior.
Communicates with customer representatives in pleasant, respectful, and efficient manner.
Coordinates with dispatchers.
Complies with all DOT requirements including drug and alcohol testing (subject to random and reasonable-suspicion testing).
Securing cargo and properly arranging and balancing it within the vehicle.
Ensures that any mechanical issues with the vehicle are corrected before driving.
Swings and secures trailer doors.
Performs other duties as required.
Qualifications & Work Experience

CDL A License Required
Hazmat endorsement required
A minimum of 2 years CDL A driving experience within the last 4 years. 3+ years CDL A driving experience preferred.
Meet D.O.T. qualification requirements, FMCSR 391.41.
Experience in load securement, route planning, and navigating various road conditions.
Exceptional customer service skills and the ability to handle sensitive cargo with care.
Detail-oriented mindset required.
Must have a TWIC or eligible to obtain a TWIC card within 90 days, if required.
Physical Demands

While performing the duties of a truck driver, the employee is required to sit for extended periods while operating a commercial vehicle. The employee must use hands and fingers to operate a steering wheel, controls, GPS devices, and other on-board equipment. The role also requires the ability to reach with hands and arms, climb in and out of the cab and trailer, and occasionally stoop, kneel, bend, or crouch during inspections, coupling/uncoupling, or loading/unloading activities. Vision requirements include the ability to see at a distance for safe driving, as well as close vision for reading documents, using electronic logs, and performing inspections.
Additional Physical and Work Details

Frequently carry, push, or pull freight weighing 1-125 pounds
Lifts up to 50 pounds
Frequently reach for freight at waist level and occasionally above shoulder height or below waist level
Shift manual transmission and operate foot pedals
Frequently squat or crouch to handle and position freight
Climb in and out of over-the-road tractor, 4 to 6 feet, 8 to 10 times daily with assistance
Pre-trip inspection for a tractor and trailer
Hook/unhook various commercial vehicle combinations, lower/raise landing gear, operate fifth wheel, lock/release pintle-hooks, fuel vehicles, check engine oil/coolant
Spend at least 5% of day standing and 5% of day walking on various surfaces; may encounter slippery or wet conditions
Must be able to reach above shoulder level, at waist level and below waist level for controls
Work Environment

Exposure to diesel fumes and airborne particles; work may occur in varying weather conditions. Time spent inside the truck cab and at customer sites, terminals, or on public roads. Noise levels can vary.
For this position, the expected base pay is $0.65 to $0.70 per mile. Actual base compensation determined by factors including knowledge, skills, experience, location, and other business considerations.
