
Labor & Employment Associate

A nationally recognized law firm is seeking a Labor & Employment Associate to join its well-established and highly regarded Labor & Employment practice in Chicago. This opportunity offers exposure to a broad range of employment litigation and counseling matters, representing large employers in complex and evolving workplace issues. The role provides meaningful responsibility, hands-on litigation experience, and direct client interaction within a collaborative and growth-oriented environment.
Responsibilities
Handle employment litigation matters before courts, arbitrators, mediators, and government agencies
Conduct witness interviews and assist with internal investigations
Draft position statements, pleadings, and litigation motions
Prepare employment-related documents, including employment and separation agreements
Support case strategy and collaborate with partners on client matters
Maintain strong client communication and contribute to relationship management
Qualifications
2–4 years of employment defense or labor & employment experience
Strong litigation experience across courts and administrative agencies
Excellent research, writing, and analytical skills
Ability to manage cases with an ownership mindset
Strong interpersonal and client communication skills
Juris Doctor from an ABA-accredited law school
Admission to the Illinois Bar required
