Take your revenue cycle expertise to the next level in a dynamic role. As a Billing Specialist III at the Puyallup Tribal Health Authority (PTHA), you will perform advanced billing functions—including claim processing, payment posting, insurance verification, and denial resolution—while supporting team workflows, reporting, and compliance. Your work ensures patient accounts are managed with precision, timeliness, and full alignment with payer requirements and organizational standards.
What You’ll Do
Perform advanced billing functions, including claim submission (CMS-1500/ADA), payment posting, and insurance verification
Manage high-volume medical, dental, and orthodontic claims with a focus on accuracy and timeliness
Investigate and resolve denied or rejected claims; collaborate with coding staff as needed
Monitor and manage A/R aging reports, ensuring timely follow-up and resolution
Submit electronic claims (837) and reconcile remittance advice (835) daily
Analyze payer reports to identify trends, errors, and process improvement opportunities
Coordinate daily team workflows and serve as a resource for complex billing issues
Support team development through training, onboarding, and guidance
Generate reports, oversee month-end processes, and maintain compliance with all regulatory and Tribal billing requirements
What You Bring
High School Diploma or GED required
Six (6) years of recent experience in medical billing or revenue cycle operations
Two (2) years of Medicare billing experience
Demonstrated expertise in advanced billing functions, denial resolution, and workflow coordination
Dental billing experience preferred
