
Cost Accountant

Responsibilities
Support the monthly cost accounting close, including inventory valuation, GR/IR analysis, cost revaluations, accruals, and reconciliations.
Analyze material, labor, overhead, and manufacturing variances.
Maintain and support standard cost systems, including cost rollups, updates, and exception reviews.
Assist with inventory accounting activities, including in‑transit inventory, rebates, tolling, and intercompany transactions.
Support absorption accounting and balance sheet reconciliations.
Partner with plant and operations teams to resolve cost issues and improve data accuracy.
Prepare and maintain schedules, reconciliations, and documentation for audits, internal controls, and SOX compliance.
Assist with property accounting coordination, depreciation support, and project‑related accounting activities.
Participate in process improvement initiatives, including automation, reporting enhancements, and system transitions.
Perform ad hoc analysis and special projects as needed.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
3+ years of accounting experience, with exposure to cost accounting, manufacturing, or plant finance strongly preferred.
Working knowledge of inventory accounting and manufacturing cost concepts.
Experience with SAP (ECC and/or S/4); BOBJ experience is a plus.
Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Detail‑oriented with strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
Work Environment
Standing, walking, or operating equipment for extended periods.
Working in a lab or manufacturing setting with appropriate PPE provided.
Use of computers and digital tools in an office or hybrid environment.
Occasional lifting or movement of materials.
Adherence to rigorous safety protocols and ergonomic standards.
