Inventory Control Specialist
Overview
This is a Safety Sensitive position. The Inventory Control Specialist will be responsible for inventory accuracy in their assigned location. Through the use of company provided tools, the specialist will monitor inventory levels, conduct cycle counts and wall‑to‑wall inventory activities, assist with reconciliation, ensure employees follow SOPs, suggest process improvements, promote a culture of inventory accuracy, and support the Inventory Control Manager as needed.

Successful candidates should have impressive attention to detail, excellent observational skills, strong interpersonal communication, and problem‑solving ability. They must grasp Microsoft Office programs, be willing to learn new software, and work independently or in a team. Ideal candidates will have inventory or quality control experience.

Responsibilities

Monitor inventory levels in the assigned location.

Ensure that physical inventory aligns with Scale inventory.

Execute cycle count plans accurately and on schedule.

Compile inventory control reports and deliver them to the Inventory Control Manager as required.

Research and resolve any out‑of‑accuracy situations with the assistance of the Manager and management.

Assist with additional employee inventory control training as necessary.

Participate in periodic inventory audits (stress tests) to confirm that Yusen is achieving SLA inventory accuracy levels at the assigned location or other sites as directed.

Participate in wall‑to‑wall inventory counts as dictated by the Inventory Control Manager.

Be knowledgeable of real‑time inventory accuracy and be prepared to discuss it with management without significant prior notice.

Assist the Inventory Control Manager in ensuring all employees are trained properly on inventory control procedures and comply with them at 100% level.

Develop Kaizens to improve the inventory control process so Yusen exceeds the SLA prescribed minimum accuracy levels.

Participate in initiatives related to creating a culture where inventory accuracy is paramount.

Machine operation including but not limited to Cherry Picker.

Perform other related duties as requested.

Qualifications

High School degree is required.

Cherry Picker experience.

Two years’ experience in a quality control or inventory control position is required.

Solid knowledge of math and proficiency with Microsoft Office Applications.

Analytical mind with strong attention to detail.

Outstanding organizational and problem‑solving skills.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Superior attendance.

Works well within a team structure.

Ability to work occasional weekends as needed.
