
Supply Chain Operation - Intern

The Contract Logistics Operations Intern will gain hands‑on experience supporting a live warehouse operation while learning the fundamentals of site‑level P&L management, workforce planning, and operational leadership. This internship is designed as a development pathway for students interested in building a long‑term career in operations leadership.
Operational Support
Partner with supervisors and managers to support daily warehouse operations (inbound, outbound, inventory control, quality).
Assist in monitoring labor productivity, service levels, and order accuracy.
Support shift reporting and operational performance tracking.
Participate in daily Gemba walks and operational meetings.
Assist with continuous improvement and process optimization projects.
Learn the components of a site‑level P&L (revenue, labor costs, fixed costs, variable expenses, margin).
Support analysis of labor spend vs. forecast.
Assist with tracking operational KPIs tied to financial performance.
Participate in budget reviews and monthly financial discussions.
Help identify cost‑saving opportunities and productivity improvements.
Observe frontline leadership practices and employee engagement strategies.
Support workforce planning and scheduling initiatives.
Learn safety compliance and regulatory standards.
Assist in documentation of SOPs and performance metrics.
By the end of the internship, the intern will:
Understand how a contract logistics site operates day‑to‑day.
Gain exposure to how operational decisions impact profitability.
Develop foundational knowledge of P&L management.
Learn key drivers of labor efficiency and cost control.
Build leadership and communication skills in a fast‑paced environment.
Qualifications
Education:
Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in:
Supply Chain Management
Logistics
Business Administration
Operations Management
Or related field
Preferred Skills:
Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Interest in financial analysis and operational metrics.
Strong communication and leadership potential.
Willingness to spend time on the warehouse floor.
