Supply Chain Engineer Intern – Business Process Excellence (BPE)
$20 - $22/hr
Position Summary
At CEVA Logistics, we are committed to continuous improvement, operational excellence, and data-driven decision-making. The Supply Chain Engineer Intern (BPE Focus) will support Business Process Excellence initiatives across warehouse, transportation, and contract logistics operations.
This role is ideal for a student passionate about process optimization, Lean methodologies, analytics, and operational performance improvement within a global supply chain environment.
Key Responsibilities
Business Process Excellence (Primary Focus)
Assist in mapping and documenting current-state operational processes (SOPs, workflows, value stream maps).
Support Lean initiatives including Kaizen events, 5S projects, and waste reduction efforts.
Conduct time studies and process observations to identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies.
Participate in root cause analysis using internal tools available.
Support continuous improvement projects aimed at increasing productivity, reducing cost, and improving service levels.
Help develop standard work documentation and process controls.
Data & Performance Analytics
Collect and analyze operational data (labor productivity, order accuracy, cycle times, etc.).
Build dashboards or reports in Excel, Power BI, or similar tools.
Support KPI tracking and performance reporting for site leadership.
Provide data-backed recommendations to improve operational metrics.
Engineering & Operational Support
Assist in warehouse layout analysis and optimization projects.
Support capacity planning and workforce planning initiatives.
Contribute to automation or process redesign feasibility assessments.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Operations, IT, HR, Transportation).
Qualifications
Education
Currently or has obtained a Bachelor’s degree in:
Industrial Engineering
Supply Chain Management
Logistics
Operations Management
Systems Engineering
Or related field
Preferred Skills
Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, or Continuous Improvement principles.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, formulas); Power BI or Tableau a plus.
Familiarity with process mapping tools (Visio, Lucidchart, etc.).
Strong communication and presentation skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, operational environment.
