Job Description
Civil/Real Estate Law Firm seeks an Associate Attorney with two to five years of practice as a licensed Texas attorney to join our litigation team! Bilingual (Spanish/English) skills are preferred, but not required.
A great candidate will have at least one full year of first‑chair civil courtroom experience, a strong speaking voice, excellent research and drafting skills, knowledge of e‑filing, and a demonstrated history of 1800 or more yearly billable hours.
The position predominantly involves management of a civil trial docket from intake to judgment and includes drafting petitions, discovery, motions, etc.
Responsibilities
Representing clients in hearings and trials (Justice Court, County Court, and District Court)
Briefing for matters in the Texas Courts of Appeal
Drafting legal documents on behalf of clients in a timely and efficient manner
Advising clients on business and legal transactions
Negotiating settlements for legal disputes
Interviewing potential new clients
Performing administrative and management functions related to the practice of law in accordance with the law firm's procedures
Qualifications
Licensed with the State Bar of Texas
2–5 years of Litigation experience (Preferred)
2–5 years with 1,800 or more billing hours per year (Preferred)
Bilingual (English and Spanish) (Preferred)
Self‑directed and proficient with deadlines
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
Ability to work well as part of our team
Ability to build rapport with clients
Excellent written and verbal litigation skills
Willingness and capability to travel to courts in surrounding counties
