Job Description
HII Mission Technologies is seeking an experienced

Integrated Air & Missile Defense (IAMD) Planning Specialist

to provide mission assurance and strategic planning support for critical defense operations. This role serves as a key advisor for IAMD program management, delivering expertise in joint operational planning, exercise coordination, and coalition integration. The ideal candidate will possess deep knowledge of air and missile defense operations and demonstrate proficiency in Joint Operation Planning Process (JOPP) methodologies.

Essential Job Responsibilities
Strategic Planning & Advisory Support

Provide consulting and advisory support for management of the IAMD program

Deliver subject matter expertise on operational requirements for joint IAMD operations

Support development of Concepts of Operations (CONOPS) and Rules of Engagement (ROE) for joint/combined air and missile defense operations

Provide strategic planning and C2 (Command and Control) integration expertise during conferences and exercise planning events

Operational Planning & Documentation

Execute JOPP-based planning and development of operational guides, Concept Plans (CONPLANs), appendices, and campaign plans

Build operational planning and country engagement budgets supporting Air Combat Command (ACC) and Combatant Command (COCOM)

Develop Fiscal Year operational engagement proposals for ACC and COCOM

Review current operations, plans, Air Force Instructions (AFIs), and joint publications to prepare briefings for ACC leadership

Coordination & Integration

Coordinate with service components, higher headquarters, and coalition partners to implement integrated defense plans

Participate in all phases of regional IAMD exercises

Collaborate with Higher Headquarters (HHQ), joint and coalition partners on exercise development, execution, and interoperability assessments

Create and coordinate staff actions in the Task Management Tool (TMT)

Assessment & Evaluation

Create assessment plans to evaluate IAMD objectives, interoperability, and integration within the COCOM Area of Responsibility (AOR)

Report findings and recommendations to the division chief

Produce engagement situational reports, after-action reports, and conference summaries

Input and analyze data in the Global Theater Security Cooperation Management Information System (G-TSCMIS)

Event Management & Execution

Organize and conduct meetings, conferences, briefings, and site surveys for operational planning

Participate in COCOM and ACC exercises, planning conferences, and video teleconferences (VTCs)

Deploy as required to support operational engagements, exercises, and planning conferences

Administrative & Logistical Support

Conduct administrative tasks including event scheduling, space reservations, and travel coordination

Manage APACS (Automated Planning and Control System), TDY (Temporary Duty) funding requests, flight/travel arrangements, and other required actions

Coordinate all logistical requirements for exercises and planning events

Minimum Qualifications
0 years experience with Bachelors in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 4 years relevant experience.

Certification: Completion of the Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS) Staff Officer Course within one year of hire (if not previously completed)

Experience: Minimum one (1) year of Air Operations Center (AOC) or equivalent experience in an IAMD-related role

Technical Proficiency: At least one (1) year of experience with Microsoft Office Suite and email systems

Travel Documents: Possession of a valid U.S. passport and ability to meet visa requirements for international travel

Availability: Ability to deploy on short notice to support operational requirements

Security Clearance: Active Top Secret/SCI clearance (required at time of hire)

Preferred Requirements

Advanced Education: Master’s degree in Strategic Studies, International Relations, Military Science, or related field

Military Experience:

Prior military service as a rated officer in air defense, air operations, or related career field

Experience serving in a COCOM or ACC staff position

Combat or operational deployment experience

Certifications:

Completion of BMDS Staff Officer Course prior to application

Joint Professional Military Education (JPME) Level I or II

Air and Space Operations Center (AOC) Weapons Director Course

Advanced IAMD planning courses

Operational Experience:

3+ years of experience in IAMD operations or planning

Experience with Patriot, THAAD, Aegis, or other IAMD systems

Previous experience supporting COCOM exercises or real-world operations

Experience in coalition or multinational operations

Technical Skills:

Proficiency with G-TSCMIS database management

Experience with Task Management Tool (TMT) or similar systems

Familiarity with APACS and military travel systems

Regional Expertise: Knowledge of specific COCOM AORs (INDOPACOM, EUCOM, CENTCOM, etc.)

Physical Requirements

Ability to deploy to austere or combat environments as required

Capability to work extended hours during exercises and operational events

Ability to travel domestically and internationally (up to 25% travel)

Work may require sitting for extended periods during planning sessions

Must be able to work in secure facilities (SCIFs) as required
