Caritas Family Solutions, formerly known as Human Support Services is seeking a flexible and compassionate caregiver to serve as a temporary Direct Service Providers (DSP) in our Community Day Services (CDS) home in Waterloo, IL.
This temporary role is perfect for emotionally mature professionals who are passionate about supporting people living with developmental disabilities.
Position Summary
Shift : Full-Time Temporary (timeline depends on clients needs, expecting 3 to 6 months)
Hours : Day shifts - 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM Monday thru Friday
Salary : $18.35 dollars per hour + opportunity for benefits depending on duration
Location : Waterloo, IL
Distinguishing Features of Work
Directly relates to the CDS Site Manager for administration and program issues
Works with the QIDP for clinical issues
Is responsible for the clients while they are in the CDS Program see that they are safe and following their treatment plan
Illustrative Description of Duties
Provide each assigned client the training necessary to achieve his/her Individual Service Plan goals and program goals.
Conduct his/her assigned classes/training sessions as scheduled.
Maintain sensitivity to the service population’s cultural and socioeconomic characteristics.
Document all activities as directed Intuition, goals, or other forms.
Complete all needed paper work in timely fashion for services provided to clients.
Provide direct service care as required
Follow all safety procedures
Administrative Duties
Follow and implement all medication procedures as assigned
Participate in the planning of consumers’ Individual Treatment Plan
Do related progress notes per the goals assigned to you for billing purposes and provide all the services indicated in the treatment plan and all other documentation necessary in a timely manner
Provide necessary information regarding consumer care to manager and/or appropriate staff in a timely manner
Requirements
Physical Requirements
Must be 18 years of age
Must already have DSP Training completed and registered on the IL Healthcare Worker Registry
Must have valid driver’s license
Have adequate transportation to be able to move from site to site
Ability to drive a regular size and larger size van or willing to be trained
Present High School diploma or GED
Able to lift 50 pounds and walk flights of stairs
Have normal or corrective eyewear and hearing devices
Have clarity of speech to be understood
Good hearing
Constitution to handle body excrements
Must be emotionally stable enough to react appropriately to a consumer in crisis
Other
Be available to fill shifts as needed
Successfully complete orientation program
Able to provide basic living skills to adults
Work within agency structure and accept supervision
Work constructively using team approach with peers
Work with providers in the community
Must feel confident to report abuse and neglect of consumers/staff to supervisor
Must be flexible and open-minded
Do other duties as assigned and/or as mutually agreed upon
