Development & Outreach Manager

ARISE is committed to refugee and immigrant centric advocacy and services. ARISE has been creating opportunities for refugees and immigrants and helping the recently resettled refugee families navigate their new communities for effective resettlement since 2013. ARISE's Refugee Advocate program is a novel approach to provide advocacy and services through trained Refugee Advocates and is available in multiple cities of MA, including Worcester and Springfield. ARISE currently provides case management, refugee advocacy, and cultural orientation services. ARISE has previously been involved in teaching English, training gate keepers for suicide prevention, and running citizenship classes to new refugees and immigrants.

Overview
The Development Manager establishes connections with funders, provides information to the community at large, and engages stakeholders for the growth of ARISE. The objective of the position is to develop trustful relationships, assist refugees and immigrants access services, raise awareness on ARISE's work, and remove barriers for advocates. The Development Manager promotes ARISE and explores community avenues for the sustainability of the organization.

Status: Part time

Location: Shrewsbury, MA

Pay: $27 to $30 hourly (commensurate to experience)

Responsibilities

Strategic engagement with funders and donors.

Identify, approach, and secure potential donors, including individuals, corporations, and foundations.

Plan and oversee fundraising campaigns, events, and initiatives to meet revenue goals.

Develop and execute donor engagement strategies to cultivate long-term relationships.

Develop and implement fundraising activities.

Maintain accurate documentation using ARISE forms.

Work closely with stakeholders to develop meaningful relationships in the interest of ARISE.

Develop and maintain relationships with community service providers.

Support training sessions and contractual meetings as needed.

Represent the organization in the community to build awareness and foster partnerships.

Organize events to engage donors and volunteers, ensuring alignment with the organization’s mission and goals.

Analyze engagement metrics and fundraising outcomes, providing insights to guide decision-making.

Attend meetings and weekly check-in meetings with a supervisor.

Conduct outreach to colleges and universities and advocate for ARISE as needed.

Communicate with former refugee advocates and keep them informed about ARISE’s work.

Perform all other duties assigned by the supervisor.

Required Skills/Abilities

Experience working with immigrant populations preferred.

Ability to connect with individuals and organizations at various levels.

A couple of years of grant writing experience required.

Proven track record on securing grants preferred.

Motivated to seek new funding sources independently.

Command of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint required.

Knowledge of fundraising strategies and donor cultivation.

Excellent organizational, verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.

Excellent supervision skills.

Skills in creating and implementing effective donor engagement.

Extremely well organized, detail oriented, flexible, and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

High levels of discretion and professionalism in dealing with confidential information.

Public speaking ability to present to donors and stakeholders effectively.

Ability to work collaboratively with Refugee advocates, clients, service providers and others.

Ability to evaluate/interpret information and make good independent judgments or decisions.

Education & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in human services, counseling, social work, or related field preferred.

Minimum of one year supervision or related experience preferred.
