Overview
Position Introduction/Key Duties: Cimarron is seeking a mid-level

Boundary Engineer

to support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract at either the Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, AL, or Schriever Space Force base in Colorado Springs, CO.

Responsibilities

Implement and maintain network perimeter infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and other network devices.

Configure and troubleshoot network routing protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF, EIGRP).

Configure and maintain firewall infrastructure.

Monitor network performance and identify areas for improvement at the network edge.

Troubleshoot network issues and provide timely resolution related to perimeter devices.

Implement and maintain network security policies and procedures.

Manage and maintain PKI infrastructure.

Ensure network compliance with industry standards and regulations.

Collaborate with other IT teams to support business applications and services.

Document network configurations and procedures.

Required Skills, Experience, and Education

Due to facility security requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for consideration at this time.

Ability to complete a pre-employment background check and drug screening, which will include, but is not limited to, testing for marijuana use.

Access to federal facilities requires a valid, unexpired Real ID-compliant driver's license or state-issued identification card at the time of hire.

Active Secret Clearance (or higher).

Current DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (e.g., Security+).

4 or more years of general (full-time) work experience.

2 or more years of directly related experience.

Direct experience with the Palo Alto Next-Generation Firewall (NGFW).

Direct experience operating Web Proxies.

Understanding of the OSI model and IP protocol stack.

Experience working with network switching and routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP) as they pertain to Netscalers, Cisco, Citrix, and Firepower.

Desirable Skills, Experience, and Education

Experience assessing and documenting test or analysis data to demonstrate cybersecurity compliance.

Experience working within the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM).

Familiarity with isolated network security best practices.

Current CISSP certification or DoD 8570 IAT Level III certification.

Proficiency supporting Authorization to Operate (ATO) activities under the Joint SAP Implementation Guide (JSIG).

Experience operating within a Zero Trust architecture environment.
