We’re seeking a driven and values-aligned attorney to join our Labor and Political Law Department, where we focus on nonprofit advocacy, election and campaign finance law, and union-side labor representation.
This is a rare opportunity to work directly with Mark Brewer, former Michigan Democratic Party Chair and one of Michigan’s most seasoned and influential public interest attorneys.
What You'll Do

Advise some of Michigan’s leading progressive and civic organizations on legal, HR, and structural issues.
Draft, analyze, and support/oppose legislation and ballot initiatives.
Provide legal counsel on campaign finance and election law to candidates, PACs, Super PACs, and advocacy organizations.
Engage in litigation across state and federal courts, including constitutional, election, and administrative law matters.
Support clients such as the Michigan AFL-CIO, Equality Michigan, Mothering Justice, Progress Michigan, Michigan Voices, Promote The Vote, and League of Women Voters of Michigan.
Work on behalf of clients like the Michigan Education Association, House & Senate Democratic Funds, Planned Parenthood Advocates of Michigan, the League of Conservation Voters, and Michigan Democratic Party.
Collaborate on landmark cases before the Michigan Court of Appeals and Michigan Supreme Court, and draft amicus briefs in significant appellate matters.
What We're Looking For

Bar admission in Michigan (or ability to waive in).
3+ Years of Legal Experience
Demonstrated interest or background in election, nonprofit, labor, or campaign finance law.
Strong research, writing, and litigation skills.
A commitment to progressive values, strategic thinking, and client service.
