Chemist
Penn United Technologies, Inc. has an excellent opportunity for a full-time Chemist in our growing Electroplating facility. This person will be an integral member of our busy chemistry lab, with primary responsibilities to sample, analyze and document plating bath chemistry. This position currently requires the ability to rotate primarily daylight and afternoon shifts.
Responsibilities
Analyze plating bath chemistry for various elements, using various testing and analysis methods
Monitor the variability of bath parameters & establish & modify control procedures
Perform daily & weekly bath analyses on nickel, gold, copper, tin/lead and acids and cleaners
Establish sampling plans for in-house material analysis to maintain statistical control and certifiability of coatings
Troubleshoot chemical process control problems
Test for concentrations using titration and Inductively Coupled Plasma Optical Emission Spectrometer (ICP-OES), run hull cell panels on baths and make chemical and additive additions based upon the results
Perform daily bath analyses and usage analysis
Maintain the records needed to confirm sound statistical control of plating chemistries, for current and prospective chemists
Follow all safety and quality plans in accordance with company programs and policies
Maintain records including production quantities
Maintain all analytical equipment in the lab as well as maintain chemical & equipment supplies
Qualifications
Associates degree in Chemistry or equivalent experience
Previous experience working with analytical equipment
Strong organizational skills
Self-motivated
Knowledge of electroplating technology preferred
Must be able to work daylight, afternoon and midnight shifts.
