
Medical Lab Technician- Fulltime: Evening/Weekend

Fulltime: Wednesday – Sunday 8:00 p – 4:00 a
Pay Range: $26–$30/hr.
Tasks and Responsibilities
Performs lab testing in Chemistry, Hematology, Urinalysis, and Coagulation.
Checks quality control for each test before running and reporting patient results.
Calls work lists on the computer, edits results, and enters data.
Confirms abnormal results before releasing and reports rare or improbable results to a supervisor.
Processes specimens and logs requisitions as needed.
Reviews daily specimen management reports.
Assists in maintaining adequate inventory of supplies and complies with state requirements for documentation of lot numbers, quality control, and specimen records.
Troubleshoots client, instrument, and computer problems as needed.
Performs maintenance on automated Chemistry, Hematology, Coagulation, and Urinalysis instrumentation as needed.
Records quality control and maintains QC records for all assays performed.
Enters results into the computer.
Ensures QC is within appropriate limits and reports problems to the supervisor.
Reviews work lists and work from automated analyzers to ensure accuracy and timely reporting of patient results.
Performs differentials and urine sediments as needed.
Performs other tasks and procedures commensurate with education, training, and abilities.
Responsible for clerical functions associated with specimen integrity, testing, identification, and reporting of department testing.
