
Clinical Service Representative II (Hybrid) - Department of Medicine - Medical R

Position Summary
Position is responsible for providing clinical office support which includes greeting and registering patients, scheduling appointments, verifying insurance benefits and referrals, and collecting co-payments.
Scheduled Hours
40 hours per week.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Greet patients and assist with form completion; verify accuracy of patient's insurance and demographic information; provide HIPAA, arbitration, and consent-to-treat forms.
Collect co‑pays for services; verify and balance receipts and payments.
Review schedule for new patients and update when necessary.
Call patients with appointment time reminder, obtain insurance information and referral forms.
Prepare, distribute, and collect fee tickets; review fee tickets for completeness; reconcile fee tickets with daily schedule.
Schedule return patient appointments and patient testing; validate patient's parking.
May prepare patients' charts for daily appointments.
Assist patients with insurance questions regarding the billing process.
Assist staff with sending out reminder cards and other related scheduling duties.
Working Conditions
Normal office environment.
Exposure to blood-borne pathogens.
Requires protective devices.
Patient care setting.
Direct patient care setting.
Physical Effort
Typically sitting at desk or table.
Typically standing or walking.
Typically bending, crouching, stooping.
Occasional lifting (25 lbs. or less).

Education & Required Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent, or combination of education and/or experience.
Certifications / Professional Licenses
Basic Life Support – American Heart Association; Basic Life Support – American Red Cross.
Basic Life Support certification (online BLS certifications without a skills assessment component are not sufficient to meet the BLS requirements).
Work Experience

Grade & Salary Range
Grade: C06-H. Salary Range: $17.34 – $25.40 per hour.
