Brief Description
Job Title: Life Enrichment Assistant
Position Summary: Life Enrichment Assistants assist with planning and delivering activities and fitness programming for residents and volunteers. They support the Life Enrichment Director in assessing resident interests, needs, and abilities, providing quality programming inside and outside the community, and encouraging participation and socialization. The role fosters residents’ social, physical, and mental well‑being.

At Waltonwood we expect regular attendance, punctuality, and dependability. Associates should aid co‑workers, welcome new residents, and focus on resident interests and company goals.
Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities
Assist the Life Enrichment Director with coordinating and facilitating activities and events for residents, both inside and outside the community, to promote creativity, physical and mental well‑being, socialization, and fun.
Encourage resident socialization and participation to foster a positive community environment.
Maintain an inventory checklist of all supplies and materials required for the program.
Coordinate the community volunteer program; assign tasks to volunteers and encourage participation in community events.
Provide administrative duties to support the team as assigned.
Help welcome new residents upon move‑in (e.g., balloons, framed announcements, shadow boxes).
Collaborate with care staff to transport residents to activities and events.
Drive the community vehicle when needed.
Assist with all other duties as assigned by the Director.

Job Requirements
Coursework in recreational therapy/gerontology preferred.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other computer applications.
Preferred minimum one (1) year of experience coordinating and conducting group activities.
Experience relevant to working with seniors; experience with memory impairment is preferred.
Physical Requirements
Constant use of manual dexterity, auditory and visual skills, gross motor skills with frequent use of bi‑manual dexterity and fine motor skills.
Ability to follow written and oral instructions and procedures.
Ability to reach, bend, twist, squat, kneel, push and pull.
Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
Ability to perform repetitive movements including simple grasping, pushing, pulling, and fine manipulation.
Occasional sitting; frequent standing and walking.
