Registered Nurse – Hospice

Location: Monmouth County

Job Title: Staff Nurse Hospice (Per Diem)

Responsibilities

Complete a two-week orientation focused on hospice care practices, EMR systems, and safety protocols.

Assess patients with advanced illnesses and create individualized hospice care plans.

Provide education, emotional support, and guidance to patients and families as they navigate the end-of-life journey.

Collaborate closely with VNA clinicians and external providers to ensure seamless, compassionate care.

Document patient status updates and adjust care plans as needs and goals evolve.

Qualifications

RN with Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.

Certification in Hospice Palliative Care Nurse and Critical Care preferred.

1+ year of supervised clinical experience as a registered nurse.

Excellent communication skills.

Strong computer skills.

Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.

Working Conditions
Working indoors/outdoors with clinical equipment and use of phone and computer; car and valid NJ driver’s license. Job characteristics: client/customer contact.

Compensation and Benefits
In compliance with New Jersey's Pay Transparency Act, the total compensation range for this position is USD $60,000.00 to USD $110,000.00. When determining an offer, VNA Health Group considers factors such as the scope and responsibilities of the role, the candidate's work experience, education/training, relevant skills, internal pay equity, and market and organizational conditions. The total compensation range reflects the total package, including base salary, overtime, bonuses, add‑on incentives, special clinical compensation, retirement plans, and all other benefits.
