Mammography Technologist - Diagnostic Services Mammography

Position Summary

UI Health is continuously seeking talented Mammography Technologists to join our expanding Diagnostic Team. This role will acquire mammography images which are used for medical diagnoses and treatment. The images are interpreted by a board‑certified radiologist to identify breast abnormalities. The technologist works under direct supervision of higher‑level personnel.

The Center for Breast Care’s Breast Imaging Center is an American College of Radiology Breast Imaging Center of Excellence. We offer a full range of breast imaging services, including screening and diagnostic mammography, ultrasound, MRI, and image‑guided biopsy. We are one of the leaders of breast imaging service in the Chicagoland area and our radiologists are specially trained in breast imaging.
Duties & Responsibilities

Performs routine mammography imaging exams and procedures
Utilizes department clinical protocols to obtain optimal quality imaging
Obtains detailed history from patient and medical record
Educates patients on breast care
Navigates electronic medical record and other information systems utilized to process imaging
Schedules patients for exams and assists with some regulatory clerical functions
Performs all quality control functions related to mammography equipment
Assists in training and education of mammography students
Participates in the enforcement of radiation safety practices
Responds to patient and/or staff service and patient experience issues
Adheres to regulatory standards such as MQSA, The Joint Commission, ACR, IDPH and Infection Control policy
Reports equipment failures and supply shortages as needed
Performs other related duties and participates in special projects as assigned
Minimum Qualifications

High school graduate or equivalent
Current/valid registration or certification in medical radiography by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
Current/valid licensure in medical radiography by the State of Illinois (IEMA)
Modality specific certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), in mammography
Current/valid American Heart Association BLS CPR certification
