Physician Assistant-Occupational Health needed for a contract to hire opportunity with Yoh’s manufacturing client located in Chalmette, LA.
Schedule: Monday-Friday 7a-4p
Overview A well-respected, industrial/manufacturing client is seeking a Physician Assistant for an ongoing contract assignment. This is a fully on-site position with opportunity to convert to permanent for the right candidate.
What You’ll Be Doing: Day-to-Day Scope Triage and management of work-related injuries and illnesses
Occupational health assessments: pre-placement/annual, return-to-work (occ & non-occ), fitness-for-duty, respirator medical evaluations (29 CFR 1910.134).
Ability to interpret EKG’s, and other standard occupational health measurements.
Medical surveillance examinations per OSHA and site-specific requirements
DOT/FMCSA physical examinations (certification preferred)
Urine drug screening and breath alcohol testing (DOT and non-DOT)
Point-of-care diagnostics and on-site specimen collection
Workers' compensation case management support
Assist employees with FMLA documentation and certification support as needed
Provide health education and biometrics
Referral coordination; direct communication with Medical Director on complex cases
Medical recordkeeping in clinic EMR; standing order compliance
Requirements PA-C (NCCPA certified)
Active, unrestricted PA license in LA
Active DEA registration (or eligibility)
BLS required; Supervisory experience helpful
DOT Medical Examiner certification preferred or willingness to obtain
Minimum 2 years clinical experience; occupational medicine, urgent care, or emergency medicine background strongly preferred
High hazard industry or manufacturingexperience required
Familiarity with OSHA recordkeeping and workers' compensation frameworks a plus
