Job Description
The Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) will act as a generalist, processing a wide variety of samples. The role involves working in a hospital setting, handling everything from specialty samples in the morning to general samples at night, with volume and specialty varying throughout the shifts.
Responsibilities
Process a diverse range of clinical laboratory samples.
Handle both high volume specialty samples during AM shifts and general samples during PM shifts.
Collaborate with other CLS professionals and lab assistants.
Ensure accurate and efficient clinical laboratory testing in hematology, microbiology, chemistry, and blood bank.
Work closely with hospital staff to support patient admission and discharge processes.

Experience using Cerner Millennium
2+ years of CLS experience within a fast-paced, large hospital setting
National CLS License
BLS certification from AHA

Work Environment
The role offers two shifts: 2:30 PM to 11 PM and 10:30 PM to 4 AM, with 5x8 hour shifts and rotating weekends. The minimum contract is for 3 months, covering LOAs, with opportunities for overtime and shift pickups. Three other CLS professionals, 2-3 lab assistants, and a lead work on the bench. The lab environment is supportive and collaborative, with regular huddles and community-focused activities.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $65.00/hr.
