Overview
The Division of Pre-College and Undergraduate Programs develops and offers non-credit and credit courses and programs for over 6,000 high school students, as well as Brown University undergraduates and visiting students from other institutions. Students participate on the Providence campus, online, and in other domestic and international locations.

Program Advisor Responsibilities
This position is a member of a team that provides outreach and advising for the division, delivering accurate information to students, parents, instructors, and other constituents. The Program Advisor builds rapport with students and families, acts as a consistent support, and communicates general educational offerings and specific process details.

Key Responsibilities

Advise on application status, registration procedures, campus life, and community and academic standards.

Implement outreach and advising communication plans developed with the Marketing and Enrollment Services Team.

Ensure efficient workflow of inbound inquiries using email and phone.

Represent the programs through daily work and recruiting/onboarding events.

Provide inquiry and admissions support and advising (40%).

Provide onboarding support and advising (40%).

Support enrollment data collection and reporting, enabling proactive outreach (10%).

Support planning and decision-making for the division by working on independent projects in the fall, as assigned by the Assistant Director of Student & Partner Engagement (10%).

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree and 1-2 years of experience, or equivalent education and experience.

Significant customer service experience, preferably in an academic environment.

Excellent oral communication and exceptional English proficiency; bilingual a plus but not required.

Strong computing abilities, including Microsoft Office Suite, Google Apps for Education, and basic technology troubleshooting.

Experience with CRM and other student systems is preferred.
