Job Description
The Atlantic/Cape May Vicinage Civil, Criminal, and Family Divisions are seeking organized, detail‑oriented individuals with excellent communication, interpersonal, and writing skills to serve as judges’ unpaid interns for Fall 2026 and Spring 2027.

Hybrid work schedule available with up to two days remote work each week. Applicants must have high‑speed home internet and install a multi‑factor authentication app.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct research.

Analyze data.

Draft memoranda.

Prepare paperwork and process legal documents.

Participate in team projects.

Data entry and filing.

Observe legal proceedings.

Qualifications

Undergraduate students enrolled in an accredited college or university.

Completion of at least one year of law school or current enrollment as a first‑year law student with substantial legal writing experience (preferred).

Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.

Excellent legal research and writing skills (essential).

Physical & Eligibility Requirements

Ability to perform work that requires climbing, prolonged standing, stretching, bending, and reaching.

Frequent lifting and carrying of supplies weighing 30 to 50 pounds, occasionally up to 75 pounds.

Possession of a valid New Jersey driver’s license if vehicle operation is necessary.

Authorized to work in the United States (U.S. citizenship not required).

Unpaid interns 18 years of age or older must agree to a thorough background check that includes fingerprinting.
