Overview

Charge Registered Nurse (RN)/Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) on the 5 West Medical Surgical Oncology Unit. Ensures high quality, patient-centered care and coordination of all functions on the designated shift. Directs, monitors, and evaluates nursing care in accordance with policies and procedures. Acts as a resource for staff and aligns with the organization’s vision/mission/values to support patient experience and clinical outcomes.
Responsibilities

Assists with admission and discharge processes to ensure efficient throughput and high-quality, patient-centered care.
Participates in ongoing assessment of the quality of patient care services in the unit, in collaboration with the management team.
Collaborates with subject matter experts and other managers to foster teamwork that supports improved outcomes and service.
Supports a patient-first philosophy and engages in service recovery when necessary.
Operationalizes nursing strategies to improve engagement (e.g., employee rounding, hourly rounds, and other initiatives).
Provides recommendations related to interviewing, selecting, and training new staff; coordinates training and development, conflict resolution, policy compliance, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions to maintain competitiveness.
Assists with staff scheduling and manages labor in accordance with patient care needs and productivity guidelines.
Supports inventory control and assists with managing supplies and equipment.
Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing; Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or higher required, or obtained within 3 years of hire/transfer.
Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the practice state and/or active Compact/Multi-State RN license.
Current and valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from AHA or American Red Cross.
Current and valid Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification from AHA or American Red Cross.
Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) / Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation (ONCC) Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certificate must be obtained within 6 months of employment start/transfer date.
At least 2 years of prior hospital/acute care RN experience.
Leadership experience preferred.
Work Details

This is a Full Time, Day Shift position. Shifts are 12 hours (approximately 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM). Rotating weekends and holidays required.
