Summary
The Electrician Assistant II will work under the supervision and instruction of a Maintenance Electrician to learn, assist and perform the following duties.

Key Responsibilities

Connect power supply wires to machines and equipment and connect cables and wires between machines and equipment.

Diagnose malfunctioning apparatus such as transformers, motors, and lighting fixtures and replace damaged or broken wires and cables.

Test malfunctioning machinery and discuss malfunction with other maintenance workers, such as Maintenance Machine Repairer and Maintenance Tool Maker, to diagnose malfunction.

Replace faulty electrical components of machines such as relays, switches, and motors, and position sensing devices.

Diagnose and repair or replace faulty electronic components, such as printed circuit boards.

Replace electric motor bearings and rewire motors.

Diagnose and replace faulty mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components of machines and equipment.

Inspect electrical systems.

Understand and follow safe working procedures.

Additional Responsibilities

Acquire knowledge of Trident’s Environmental and Safety Policies by completing required training programs and performing designated work activities in accordance with training and procedures/work instructions.

Notify designated personnel of any environmental or safety incidents or risks not previously documented, in accordance with Environmental Awareness and/or safety trainings.

Minimum Requirements

HS Diploma or GED

Ability to read and write basic English, proficient in basic arithmetic

Proficient in MS Office products preferred

Knowledge of and ability to use standard industry hand and power tools

One year or more experience as a level 1 Electrician assistant or three years equivalent industry experience

Preferred Training and Skills

OSHA 10 training

Arc Flash and Contact release training

Fall protection training

Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; extreme cold; risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to climb or balance. The employee is occasionally required to sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to ten pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to twenty‑five pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to fifty pounds. Specific vision abilities required for this job include distance vision, peripheral vision and depth perception.
