Job Description Summary
Provides general nursing care to patients and families throughout the continuum of care in diverse, acute health care settings. The department operates 24/7/365.
The RN is accountable for the practice of nursing as defined by the Ohio Board of Nursing, delegates nursing tasks to licensed practical nurses (LPNs) and unlicensed assistive personnel (UAPs) following the Ohio Nurse Practice Act, and provides professional nursing care services per department policies and nursing care standards. The RN is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care for assigned patients.
Responsibilities and Duties
Assessment and diagnosis: Performs initial, ongoing, and functional health status assessments (30%).
Outcomes identification and planning: Documents nursing interventions to achieve outcomes based on nursing diagnoses and collaborative problems (30%).
Implementation and evaluation: Evaluates and documents responses to nursing interventions and revises the plan of care based on data (20%).
Leadership: Actively participates in process improvement activities to achieve clinical quality, customer satisfaction, and financial performance metrics (10%).
Operations: Supports operational duties (10%).
As a High Reliability Organization (HRO), responsibilities require focus on safety, quality, and efficiency in performing job duties.
Minimum Qualifications
Current Registered Nurse license from the State of Ohio (or licensed in good standing with a multi-state compact state).
BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
BSN required after 5 years of employment.

Scheduled Weekly Hours: 36.
