Job Description
JOB SUMMARY: Performs chemical analysis/laboratory testing of active pharmaceutical ingredients, in-process materials, finished products and stability materials per established methods. Responsible for laboratory instrumentation set-up, troubleshooting, and routine maintenance.
Major Responsibilities
Conduct chemical analysis on raw materials, finished goods, stability, and R&D samples.
Follow all procedures related to data documentation, laboratory safety, and good laboratory practices.
Review test data, calculations, and results for accuracy and completeness.
Prepare and review or update Standard Operating Procedures as assigned.
Interpret USP or other compendia methods.
Identify malfunctions in laboratory equipment and advise supervisor or perform simple repairs.
Perform OOS, deviation, and CAPA investigations.
Evaluate new technologies, products, and materials as assigned by the Laboratory Manager, as well as other projects.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry or related discipline.
Work Experience
At least 2 years of experience in pharmaceutical laboratory analysis.
Experience with HPLC or GC.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
Experience in working through details of a problem, overcoming obstacles and reaching a positive and successful solution through mathematical or systematic operations.
Experience in processing all relevant details, understanding and prioritizing their importance and drawing clear and concise conclusions.
Preferred Job Requirements
Master’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry or related discipline.
Experience applying Cost Accounting Standards (CAS) compliant cost accounting structure.
SQL (Structured Query Language), SQL Server, MS Access, or other database systems.
