We are a not‑for‑profit, mission‑driven health system that values innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning. You will work with a team of licensed professionals and support staff to provide occupational therapy services under the direction of a licensed occupational therapist.
Responsibilities
Provide patient care based on therapist evaluation and plan of care, taking into account the patient’s age and development.
Coordinate patient care and clinical activities through written and/or verbal communication with patients, families, therapists, Clinical Team Leaders, managers and other members of the health care team.
Document patient care in the medical record and complete related forms in compliance with regulatory agencies and department policies.
Supervise and collaborate with support staff, volunteers and students to achieve efficient clinical activity and quality patient care.
Participate in other patient‑care and departmental activities such as in‑services, performance improvement, program development/evaluation, new employee orientation, committee membership, peer review and staff meetings.
Perform tasks within the scope of certification, age‑specific criteria, departmental guidelines and physician instructions, including individualized treatment programs.
Work primarily indoors in clinical settings such as hospitals, nursing homes or outpatient sites, and may also work at home‑care locations, traveling between patient homes as required.
Requirements
Associate degree from an AOTA accredited program.
Legally licensed to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
AHA BLS‑HCP certification within six months of employment.
Effective interpersonal, communication, customer service and teamwork skills.
