Job Overview
RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse for the Labor & Delivery Department at Monmouth Medical Center, one of New Jersey’s largest community teaching hospitals.
The nurse will provide care to labor patients during vaginal and cesarean deliveries, uphold patient safety and evidence‑based practice, and collaborate with the healthcare team.
Qualifications
Required
BSN
Strong communication and organizational skills
At least 1 year of current labor & delivery or acute care nursing experience, or completion of an L&D RN residency program orientation
Certifications and Licenses Required
BLS and ACLS certification (AHA) & NRP
AWHONN Intermediate FHR
Active New Jersey Registered Nurse License
Preferred
Specialty certification
Scheduling Requirements
Full Time Night shift
Essential Functions
Caring for labor patients and assisting in vaginal and C/S deliveries
Providing nursing care within the scope of practice defined by the Nurse Practice Act and regulatory standards, ensuring ethical standards of practice as defined by the ANA code of ethics
Promoting patient safety and evidence‑based practice, maintaining professional knowledge, and communicating with the care team
Reporting safety and potential hazards, such as damaged floors, unsecured areas, or medical errors
Maintaining knowledge of the patient population served
Supervising and delegating tasks to appropriate team members, collaborating with other providers
Setting priorities and evaluating interventions to achieve measurable improvements
Utilizing the nursing process to integrate all aspects of care and individualizing the plan of care for each patient
