Position
Clinical Administrator Registered Nurse (RN) – Nursing Administration
Responsibilities
Models & encourages professional practice that includes nurse autonomy, authority, accountability and responsibility within their unit.
Operationalizes the strategic plan for the Nursing Administration department and the hospital.
Establishes expectations for staff and appropriately provides resources for care.
Adheres to and stays abreast of organizational policies and procedures; is a resource to nurses and others in the department and organization.
Demonstrates effective communication, conflict resolution, team building, and leadership skills, acting as the patient representative during evenings, nights, weekends and holidays.
Ensures that all infection control precautions and procedures are followed in the nursing department.
Conducts hospital nursing unit rounds to monitor census and staffing. Makes recommendations when appropriate.
Conducts daily bed huddles in Nursing Administration with nursing and bed‑control staff to provide an overview of the current status of the hospital including admissions, surgeries, transfers, and discharges to facilitate throughput.
Investigates and assists in the resolution of significant events such as near misses, adverse events, patient/family complaints, and any situation that affects the safe delivery of patient‑centered care in a timely manner.
Executes all other duties as required.
Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a minimum of an Associate of Science degree required; Bachelor’s Degree required; MSN preferred.
Valid Maryland RN license required.
Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS).
Five years’ work experience in an acute care setting, 2 years in a leadership position.
2 years of supervisory/management experience required.
Certification in a department‑specific area within the first year of the position.
Work Schedule
Employment Type: Full‑time
Hours per Week: 36 hrs/week
Typical Daily Schedule: 7:00 pm – 7:00 am
Shift Type: Night
Weekend Requirements: every other weekend rotation
Holiday Requirements: rotating holidays
