Position Overview
Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) – part‑time hospice/home health aide position at St. Mary's Home Care & Hospice in Athens, GA.
Responsibilities include providing one‑to‑one compassionate care, following RN‑developed care plans, and maintaining compliance with the state Nurse Practice Act and agency policies.
What You Will Do
Follow care plans developed by RN.
Report client condition changes to RN as required.
Assist clients with personal care activities such as bathing, mouth care, denture care, skin care, grooming, bathroom privileges, transfers, ambulation, and dressing/undressing.
Assist with household tasks including meal planning and preparation, feeding, light housekeeping, changing linens, making bed, and laundering clothes and bedding.
Measure and record client’s oral, rectal, and axillary temperatures, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure as ordered.
Perform range of motion and other simple procedures as assigned by RN.
Assist clients with medication self‑administration when assigned by RN; no medication administration of any kind is allowed.
Minimum Qualifications
High School diploma or GED required.
Completion of a 75‑hour CNA course.
Completion of a federally compliant training program and successful competency evaluation.
At least one year of employment as an aide in an institution, home care, or hospice setting.
Meet agency hiring criteria, including professional references.
Ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision and maintain a professional relationship with clients and families.
Commitment to ongoing skill development, learning, and adherence to agency policies.
Consistently demonstrate organizational core competencies and ethics.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to and from work sites.
