Job Summary
The Part‑time Clinical Reviewer – Substance Use (LPCC, LMFT, LICSW) will utilize clinical expertise to review medical records against ASAM criteria and contract requirements. This remote position is available throughout the United States and requires a valid Minnesota license.

Responsibilities

Review and interpret patient records against ASAM criteria to determine medical necessity and appropriateness of care.

Attend required training and scheduled meetings and maintain up‑to‑date information for review.

Ensure accuracy and timeliness of all review cases within contract requirements.

Manage daily workload and adjust schedules to meet department demands.

Collaborate with the Supervisor on quality monitoring activities, identifying improvement areas, and implementing plans.

Maintain current knowledge of review processes and relevant clinical practices.

Act as liaison with providers, addressing customer service issues and problem resolution.

Foster positive, professional relationships with internal and external customers to facilitate the review process.

Read, understand, and adhere to all corporate policies, including HIPAA guidelines.

Required Qualifications

Active, unrestricted Minnesota license in LPCC, LMFT, or LICSW.

3+ years of direct clinical work as a mental health professional.

1+ year of Utilization Review, Utilization Management, or Prior Authorization experience.

In‑depth understanding of ASAM criteria and real‑world application.

Familiarity with medical record structure, terminology, and disease processes.

Strong clinical assessment skills paired with excellent critical thinking.

Proficiency in medical record abstraction.

New hires must attend Monday orientation (or next business day if holiday).

Preferred Qualifications

Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to manage deadlines, prioritize tasks, and thrive in a fast‑paced environment.

Highly organized with meticulous attention to detail.

Compensation
USD $28.37 – $39.19 per hour, based on experience and skill level.
