Job Summary
Performs critical life support patient care, advanced airway management, and transport management. Assumes responsibility for the operation and maintenance of emergency vehicles.
Qualifications
Required Education:
EMS Certificate with Community College or Associate of Science in EMS. Must complete and maintain continuing education or re-certification class as required by NC OEMS.
Preferred Education:
Bachelors in EMS.
Required License:
North Carolina EMT‑P certification and North Carolina driver’s license, meeting insurance guidelines. Must obtain ITLS or PHTLS, BCLS, ACLS, PALS, or PEPP within one year of employment. Must have a valid NC driver’s license or procure one within 30 days unless an out‑of‑state commuter; at least two years of satisfactory driving experience and be at least 21 years of age.
Preferred License:
National Registry, UMBC CCEMT‑P.
Required Experience:
None.
Preferred Experience:
One year of full‑time active pre‑hospital care or equivalent.
