We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented Legal Assistant to support our attorneys and contribute to the efficient operation of our practice. The ideal candidate is proactive, professional, and comfortable working in a fast-paced legal environment. This role requires strong administrative skills, discretion, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Key Responsibilities
Provide administrative and clerical support to attorneys
Prepare, revise, and format legal documents and correspondence
Manage attorney calendars, schedule meetings, and coordinate deadlines
File documents with courts (including e-filing)
Maintain and organize client files (electronic and physical)
Communicate professionally with clients, courts, and opposing counsel
Assist with case management and tracking key dates
Handle billing support, time entry, and expense tracking as needed
Perform general office administrative tasks
Qualifications
3+ years of experience in a law firm or legal environment preferred
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel)
Experience with legal document management systems preferred
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities
Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
Professional demeanor and ability to maintain confidentiality
Preferred Skills
Experience with e-filing in state and federal courts
Familiarity with document management systems (e.g., NetDocuments)
Knowledge of legal terminology and procedures
